Gratitude meditation at and in the meltwater of Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, on July 01st, 2025
Feeling the special energy of the largest mountain on the African continent, a small group of us hiked to the meltwater river of Kilimanjaro. The mountain itself was shrouded in clouds during our stay.

Descending, we crossed humid sections of the rainforest and took in the richness and abundance of nature. The meltwater of Kilimanjaro appeared to us as a shallow, medium-sized river that was easy to walk along.

We were all aware that the meter-high ice cap of the sacred mountain is losing its thickness due to changing climatic conditions and that it will be without glaciers in the foreseeable future. With it, the pure, primordial water of this mountain will also dry up.
Perceiving this within ourselves, each of us connected with the mountain in their own unique way. Lost in meditation, we stood in the water, washed ourselves in it, and sat in silence on its banks. We thanked the mountain and its water for the variety, diversity, and multitude of information it imparted to the surrounding area with its meltwater.

We were touched by the devotion and energy of the mountain. These were sacred instants and moments of feeling the purity of the water, the softness and gentleness with which it flowed further into the valley to unite with other waters. Finally, we blessed the water of Kilimanjaro.
We asked for forgiveness for all the people of this planet who, through their own self-forgetfulness and forgetfulness of their essence, contributed to the change of our Mother Earth and thus of the sacred mountain. We said goodbye with gratitude for this special encounter.
