Freedom & Peace Award by David Wared for the Maharaja - King of Jodhpur and the region of Marwar, His Highness Gaj Singh II., Rajasthan, India, on March 28th, 2025
We visited the Maharaja in the Palace of Jodhpur to honour and appreciate him for his lifework. We valued him for his thinking, feeling and acting for the benefit of the people of Marwar and its nature, as well as his engagement in the Indian Head Injury Foundation which is working for the whole Country of India.
The work of the IHIF - Indian Head Injury Foundation - aims to provide the fastest possible emergency care and rehabilitation measures to as many people in India as possible through prevention and education. The IHIF also aims to change awareness through its measures so that the number of serious injuries decreases. All sections of the population should benefit from these measures, regardless of their social situation. This way of thinking, feeling and acting is an unconditional service to the next self.
Sharing knowledge about liberation from suffering and hardship and about ways of healing is highly humanitarian action. It is an action that transitions from a personal perspective to a global view and perspective. This insight no longer sees itself as separate from other beings, but regards every being as the next self. This action is an essential contribution to liberation from suffering and hardship and to the pacification of social differences.

Further projects for the benefit of his fellow human beings and also for the benefit of the animals, plants and the entire natural environment in the district of Marwar have been realized and actually are being implemented by Gaj Singh II. in the His Highness Maharaja Hanwant Singhji Charitable Trust.
Here, the basic supply of drinking water for people and animals has been continuously ensured, as has the improvement of hygiene and thus the prevention of disease. Through education and helping people to help themselves, a dignified life has been made possible that will have a lasting effect on future generations.
Particularly noteworthy is the promotion of women and girls through education and the opportunity to learn a profession. In this way, they are free to choose how they want to live between tradition and modernity. Their financial independence makes this possible.
In all the projects described, Gaj Singh II. is concerned with freeing people from the cycle of poverty, illness, dependency and the struggle for survival and leading them into a self-determined life. This is a prerequisite for a free and peaceful existence. From this, the spiritual evolution towards the original freedom and peace of all beings can be realized in extended humanity in united societies.
