Conversation of views on peace and spiritual work in Kuizhimake, La Guajira, Colombia/ April 16-18th, 2022
The indigenous Kogi people in Colombia live their customs and traditions to protect Mother Earth and preserve the knowledge of their ancestors for the benefit of people and nature. For them, it is essential that Mother Earth is doing well. For them, she is the basis for the well-being of all other beings.
We have been traveling to Colombia with parts of our peace movement several times since 2018 and have repeatedly been in close contact with various indigenous peoples and several times with the Kogi, who consider themselves guardians of the earth.
As their content and views are very original and there are some similarities to our peace philosophy, we were interested in how we could enter into a discourse with them about the spiritual foundations of our peace journeys. After being greeted with a certain reluctance on the first day, we were able to explain our spiritual content, which underlies our thoughts, feelings and actions, to each other in an initial discussion.
The ethics of extended humanity according to Light Awareness, in which all beings, i.e. humans, animals, plants, the earth and spiritual beings are of equal value, equal worth and equal rights, met with their approval, as the Kogi also stand for their preservation and nature conservation. What is different is the way we think, feel and act about it. They suggested on their own initiative that we should have a “spiritual” conversation every day of our visit, which we did with increasing openness and interest.

During these three days, we showed each other our work for the earth and nature and our actions for peace. We attended the pagamentos of the Kogi to balance the disbalances of the earth caused by humans and we showed them our light-awareness applications and meditated together with them for peace. We planted trees together as our way of balancing and showed them our way of spiritual earth healing and water healing. We shared the food we had brought with us in common joint peace meals.

They observed us in our mindful daily interaction with nature, as well as in our encounters with them and ourselves, so that interest and trust could grow. The joint activities during the three days created a closeness between the Kogi and us that led to warmth and contact, as we were able to make our common concerns tangible in the different approaches of our different cultures.

They were very touched that other groups of us were guests in two other Kogi villages at the same time. They could clearly feel the power of serving together. On the last evening, the wife of the village chief attended our discussions at the invitation of the female village members. She spoke to us in English, which simplified our conversation by providing a translation. She welcomed the fact that it is essential for us to incorporate feeling and intuition into our thoughts, feelings and actions and was pleased to see our female members acting as equals and leaders.

The information that responsibility for global peace begins with each individual and is realized sustainably through peaceful thinking, feeling, acting and communicating was very well received by all village members. In this way, our conversations during these days became more and more open and in-depth, so that by the end of our time together in Kuizhimake, a bond had been formed that was also expressed in the request to come back.
