Visiting a kindergarten in Biga, Kenya / June 20th, 2018

Small buses brought us to the not far away kindergarten, which was built a few years ago by a German organization. About 90 children aged 3 to 6 to be cared for expected us in three classrooms. Already in the kindergarten they start learning English and doing simple maths.

After we briefly greeted the children, we all sat in a circle in front of the school building and all the children were distributed in the middle of this circle. Three teachers, the kindergarten manager and the village elders attended the day and introduced themselves and the children. We also introduced ourselves and sang our praises with the children in their native language Swahili…We are all one

After that, we surprised the children with our gifts from Germany. For each child we had brought an own, waterproof backpack, where they can stow their water bottle, exercise books, etc. A blessing especially in the rainy season.
We were all happy to look into bright faces and to see the pure joy in them.

Children only had a short lesson today. We brought balls and skipping ropes for them and everybody looked forward to play.

We experienced deep and touching embraces, eye contacts and encounters with the children. Those precious moments, when we feel that we are all one. On this day we can say: we had a lot of those moments.
